The newly established museum of the Cathedral of S. Pietro di Sorres preserve a collection of archaeological and monumental evidences that testify the human presence in Sorres and Borutta areas since the Middle Neolithic up to the present day, without interruption .
The numerous archaeological finds , found on the hill, where the beautiful Romanesque Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle stands, to which a Benedictine monastery is attached, have recently been collected in a permanent exhibition set up in the rooms of the monastery guesthouse.

The strong religious value of the site allows to deal with various types of themes in the exhibition itineraries such as the history of evangelization in Sardinia, the early medieval history referring to the period of Vandalic and Byzantine domination, the history of the Diocese of Sorres in the Giudicale period, Aragonese is Spanish.
Attention is also paid to the cathedral church, which tells the story of the construction and deepens the artistic and architectural aspects.
Particularly interesting is the numismatic collection and the numerous architectural artefacts from the ancient episcope and the restoration of the church which took place at the end of the 19th century
